We soon start thinking about the important season of ADVENT. Such a joyful journey of faith around God's world. We want to do something special for the start of this special journey.

Advent is a season of the liturgical year observed in our faith as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of the Nativity of Christ at Christmas and the return of Christ at the Second Coming.

It is a spiritually significant and special time of the year. It is a journey of faith for our school community.

To signify this very special season, we are inviting ALL the children to wear an item of purple (or wear a purple outfit) on MONDAY 2nd December in school.

It will be a sense of 'purple oneness' and will start our special school journey.

WEAR PURPLE DAY in St. Bernard's school on Monday 2nd December 2021.

The word 'Advent' is derived from the Latin word adventus, meaning 'coming'
