WELL DONE CHILDREN - lockdown drill13 October 2026 (by admin) |
We recently had a 'lockdown drill' in school - all part of the school's safeguarding agenda. School establishments up and down the country have these important drills (as well as fire drills).
Why do we plan these safeguarding events at St. Bernard's?
A lockdown incident affecting a school can be varied and may include:
▪ Severe weather
▪ Fire
▪ Accident of a pupil, teacher or other staff member
▪ Local criminal activity
▪ Assault near premises
▪ Chemical spill (in the locality)
▪ Road traffic collision in the local area
▪ Public Health incident
The list is from Authority guidance.
A lockdown situation may be instigated by the police or fire brigade...
Well done to all the children and staff.
